New ideas need a home! With the launch of BBC Taster the broadcaster created a one for musicians, comedians and poets in early 2015. A home for program concepts. A home for innovative tools and technologies. A home for creative content. But it would be only half as good without any guests – in this case the users: The interactive platform thrives on the “try, rate, and share” principle, the guests’ feedback lies at the center! Before any format will be spread in the wide world, the crowd is testing its potential. Many of the concepts are implemented in a BBC Connected Studio Innovations Program, for which Laura Harrison, producer, and Rebecca Gregory Clarke, research technologist, work. They will give us a taste of their BBC Taster project “thread” in their ignite talk at #RID16.
